Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen star Isabel Lucas insists she was not romancing co-star Shia LaBeouf at the time of his car accident last summer – but she can understand why anyone would fall for the actor.
The Aussie beauty was a passenger in LaBeouf’s truck when he flipped it following a collision with another vehicle in Los Angeles, and the gossip columns went crazy with reports the castmates were dating. The rumours went into overdrive when Lucas announced she had split from actor boyfriend Adrien Grenier.
But the actress insists she was never romantically involved with her Transformer co-star.
She tells Details magazine, “I don’t think it’s unusual to spend time with your castmate. People instantly assume you can’t have a platonic friendship with someone of the opposite sex.”
But Lucas insists LaBeouf is a catch for any girl: “He’s got an awesome sense of humour and a big heart. He’s got a lot to give. A really interesting character. And he’s also very passionate.”
