MELBOURNE Spring Fashion Week face Isabel Lucas is making the opening night of the festival a family affair. The ethereal beauty will join Vogue Australia editorin-chief Edwina McCann at the official launch of the Vogue Fashion Night Out tonight on Bourke St Mall before sitting front row at the Emporium runway with her mum, Beatrice. The pair plan to shop all the sensational bargains that are on offer as part of the global fashion shopping phenomenon.
“We will have a bit of mother-daughter shopping time, ” she said. “We’re not like a fashionista family, I feel she is very elegant in her style.” Lucas, who will be front row for all the action over the coming week — alongside her mum and other close friends, including actor Zoe Tuckwell-Smith — is excited about donning the latest designs from some of Melbourne’s top labels. “A lot of the designers I am wearing are ethical and sustainable, ” she says. “I’m really looking forward to seeing the student runway. It’s a wonderful idea to showcase emerging designers.”
Tonight’s VFNO is the second held in Melbourne and kicks off the global fashion event, which takes place in 20 cities around the world. Hundreds of thousands of shoppers are expected to hit the CBD tonight to make the most of hundreds of offers and activations to officially launch MSFW.
