Entourage star Adrian Grenier stepped in on Wednesday to help his girlfriend Isabel Lucas dodge a photographer’s question about her involvement in Shia Labeouf’s drunk driving accident at the weekend.
Lucas, Labeouf’s Transformers 2 co-star, was a passenger in the actor’s truck when it collided with another vehicle in Hollywood – leaving Labeouf with serious injuries to one hand and Lucas suffering a minor head injury.
The actress was walking in Los Angeles with Grenier when she was approached by a photographer investigating her involvement in the wreck.
But Grenier jumped in, shunning the snapper’s inquiry as to Lucas’ health, saying: “She’s okay, we’re good. This is not the time for an interview,” before the actress politely added: “Thanks for supporting us.”
Lucas’ mother spoke out on Wednesday, refuting reports Labeouf was drunk at the time of his car accident, insisting her daughter would never get into a car with a drunk driver.
Labeouf was arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI), although police subsequently announced that he was not at fault for the accident.
He is due in court next month to face a misdemeanour DUI charge.
